The Shoton Festival, also known as the Yogurt Festival or Tibetan Opera Festival, is one of the most significant and joyous traditional festivals for the Tibetan people. The name literally translates to "eating yogurt banquet" in Tibetan, as "Sho" means yogurt and "Ton" means banquet.
